Candle Safety & Product Care Policy for Mandarin Glow Ltd

At Mandarin Glow Ltd, customer safety is our priority. Please read and follow the safety instructions below to ensure the safe and enjoyable use of our candles and wax melts.

General Safety Information

  • Always read and follow any warning labels provided with your product.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep candles and wax melts out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do not move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is hot.
  • Always use products on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Keep away from flammable materials, including curtains, bedding, paper, and decorations.
  • Do not consume candles, wax melts, or fragrance oils.

 

Candle Care & Safety

Before Lighting

  • Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each burn.
  • Ensure the candle is free from wick trimmings, matches, and other debris.
  • Place the candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts.

During Use

  • Burn candles within sight at all times.
  • Keep candles at least 10cm apart from one another.
  • Avoid burning candles for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Extinguish the candle if the flame becomes excessively large, flickers repeatedly, or produces smoke.
  • Never allow the flame to touch the side of the container.

When Extinguishing

  • Use a candle snuffer where possible.
  • Ensure the wick is upright and centred before the wax solidifies.
  • Allow the candle to cool completely before handling.

End of Candle Life

  • Discontinue use when approximately 10mm of wax remains at the bottom of the container.
  • Continuing to burn beyond this point may cause the container to overheat or crack.

 

Wax Melt Safety & Care

Using Wax Melts

  • Use only in suitable wax warmers or burners designed for wax melts.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your wax warmer or burner.
  • Do not add water to melted wax.
  • Do not leave a wax burner unattended while in use.
  • Keep away from children, pets, and combustible materials.

Tea Light Burners

  • Only use standard unscented tea lights suitable for your burner.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the burner.
  • Never touch the burner while in use, as it may become extremely hot.

Electric Warmers

  • Follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions.
  • Do not overfill the warming dish.
  • Unplug when not in use.

 

Storage Instructions

To maintain product quality:

  • Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Avoid storing near radiators, fireplaces, or windows with prolonged sun exposure.
  • Keep products in their packaging where possible until ready for use.

Allergies & Sensitivities

Our products contain fragrance oils which may cause sensitivity in some individuals.

If irritation occurs:

  • Stop using the product immediately.
  • Avoid direct contact with skin.
  • Seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

Customers with known sensitivities to fragrances should review product descriptions carefully before purchasing.

Product Variations

As our candles and wax melts are handcrafted, slight variations in colour, appearance, and fragrance strength may occur.

These variations do not affect product performance or quality.
